There is some disagreement about whether the drug ivermectin is effective in preventing, or in the early treatment of COVID-19. The argument in favor of the effectiveness of the drug for these purposes rests mainly (or so I understand) on some studies which have been done, along with a meta-analysis of many such studies studies. Some say the studies are flawed and some declare the studies which show the greatest effectiveness to be definitive. Others say that those studies are not valid.
The drug Ivermectin has been touted by some as something of a miracle drug for COVID-19. On the other hand, others have declared the opposite to be the case. (Have you ever seen that dynamic before? Perhaps we're in the middle of an information war...?) There has been some chatter, specifically, around Bret Weinstein who has made some controversial assertions on his Dark Horse Podcast. There have been videos taken down by social media networks.
