Concordis uses four types of nodes in its argument maps.
Claim
Every argument map starts with a claim, which Concordis shows at the top of the map. Claims are meant to start a conversion between people who do not already agree with each other on all points.
Objection (a.k.a. "con")
Objection, or "con," nodes undermine or contradict the credibility and/or the relevance of their parent node.
Part
Part nodes neither support nor undermine/contradict their parent node. They exist only to split the ideas of their parent node into separate nodes, so that each idea may be addressed and assessed independently from every other idea.
Reason (a.k.a. "pro")
Reason, or "pro," nodes support the credibility and/or the relevance of its parent node.
